Q.  What are your boats made of?

A.   The TDB Sea Class Boats are made with tri-axial stitch-bonded fiberglass which is designed for high horsepower boats.  The boats are laminated using proprietary Phoenix technology derived from our aircraft division.  The TDB Classic boats (14 and Scull) are hand laid matt and roving fiberglass just like the old TDB technology prior to 1997.  The Arthur Armstrong line of boats are built the same as the TDB Classic boats.

Q. What is the difference between TDB and Arthur Armstrong boats?

A. The TDB's are big water boats.  Arthur Armstrong boats are built for use on smaller, protected waters.

A. We have been in business for over 30 years. Please take the opportunity to read "About Us".


Q. Do your boats take a long or short shaft motor?
A. The TDB17 Sea Class and 14 Sea Class take a long shaft motor. The TDB14 Classic is designed for a short-shaft.

Q. Does Arthur Armstrong Duck Boat Co., Inc. work through dealers?
A. No, we are strictly factory direct.

Q. Why is Arthur Armstrong only factory direct?

A. We have found that our customers are very well informed and don't need dealers to help them make decisions.  By selling factory direct we can save our customers the industry standard 30% dealer markup.  In addition, very few long term dealers wish to carry specialized duck boats because of the low sales volume.  This generally means only "backyard" and "garage" dealers will carry the boats and they typically go out of business within a year or two, leaving you the customer, hanging.

Q. Are the TDB's covered by a warranty?
A. Yes, the TDB Sea Class boat's are covered by a 5 year limited warranty.  Other AADBCO models carry a 2 year limited warranty.

Q. How do you ship your boats?
A. Individual boats are shipped either via our own truck or through the use of long-haul companies that use flatbed semi-trailers. If we deliver your boat we can bring it to your door. If we ship via flatbed semi service then arrangements need to be made to unload with a forklift, or loading dock.

Q. Can the TDB boat/blinds handle big water?
A. The boats are designed and built with safety as the main objective of the boat. Both boat/blinds are very seaworthy. They have proven themselves over and over during the last thirteen years as TDB owners will testify. BUT the most seaworthy boat is the one operated by a person with conservative judgment: one who doesn't take unnecessary risks. Remember: it is sometimes best to "wait the storm out" in the comfort of home. There will always be another day of hunting when using good, safe judgment.

Q. Can I use a four-stroke motor on my Sea Class boat?
A. Yes.

Q. Does the new Sea Class 14 plane?
A. Yes, the hull has been redesigned and is now a planing hull

Q.  How do I find values for used boats? 

A.  Check the N.A.D.A. Marine Appraisal Guide, an equivalent to the Blue Book for automobiles.   If you can't find it online, check with a public library, boat dealer or possibly a county clerk's office.  This guide contains values for boats 1993-2009, for boats 7-75 feet in length.
